Straight from the movies – Star Wars holograms and Bourne Identity multi touch-screens… the US TV stations are stopping at no expense to outdo each other.

TV stations are pulling out the tech show of strength this US election. While battling for eyeballs ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox have released a host of new studio technology such as 3-D holographic projections of its correspondents, virtual reality studios , virtual environments that react to TV cameras and multi-touch screens are a few of the nifty gadgets being used.

US elections give a great impetus for Americans to spend lots of money on communications, leading to some cutting edge advances that us normal folk can take advantage of.

The learning out of this election… as digital moves away from being located purely online, we’ll see more and more examples of technology entering our day-to-day lives. As communicators we should be looking for ways to push this technology while adding value to people’s lives.
